TOKENIZATION

REAL ESTATE TOKENIZATION, CROWDFUNDING & REITS

REAL ESTATE TOKENIZATION

Tokenization refers to representation of a property asset or rights to a property asset into a digital representation, a token. Tokenization pre-dates blockchain, but the use of blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies, provide an infrastructure layer for these property tokens to be programmed, stored, transferred or recorded in a transparent and secure manner.

REAL ESTATE TOKENIZATION, CROWDFUNDING & REITS

All 3 mechanisms allow for Fractional Ownership in real estate. Several isolated parties can share in and mitigate the risk of ownership of a high-value tangible asset.

Real estate crowd funding

Real estate crowdfunding is a flexible, accessible, and affordable option to raise funding, the exit options for funders are severely limited.

REITS

REITs are specific to real estate, offering a safe and diverse mode of investment but, due to the number of intermediaries involved and regulatory compliances, setting up and managing REITs entails significant cost and managerial experience.

crowdfunding & REITS

Both crowdfunding and REITs are technology agnostic. Real Estate Tokenization, however, tokenizes off-chain assets on a blockchain or other distributed ledger technologies.

PropertyHandle is a hybrid model which uses these mechanisms in conjunction with each other to create digital low ticket entry, secure and liquid real estate investments. Tokenization, by reducing or eliminating the costs of intermediaries and lowering minimum investment requirements, offers the potential to unlock trillions of dollars in illiquid global real estate assets to retail and institutional investors in an open marketplace.
